Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I agree with the above commenters. When you see the raw spendor and beauty of global warming first-hand, well, who could fail to be moved?

The fascinating thing about snow country is that if you suddenly go there, it's cold as hell. And of course it is -- look at all the goddamn snow!

But if you live there, it's not cold at all. Kinda brisk, actually. Fresh and alive.

Yeah, that's pretty much what it looked like. We live just South of Pollock Pines and, for the record, there have been 11 snow storms, like this or worse, this year plus two more dustings. And, yes, our snow blower is broken...happened long about storm #8.

On the other hand, Dr. Mercury is spot-on in his comments. Every word is absolutely true..."fresh and alive" and "cold as Hell".

It's nice to find friends and neighbors on "Maggie's Farm".
