Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Two religion quotes from today

- Deacon Kevin McCormack, on Religion on the Line (radio): "If there were no Easter, there would be no Christmas."


- My Pastor in church this morning (paraphrased): "If we cannot believe that Christ rose from the dead, or are on the path to believing it, then we're wasting our time here." (I think that is debatable, but I like totally get his point. - the illumination comes from stepping into the light. Many things in life are like that. Maybe most things.)

He's only paraphrasing Paul. Without the Resurrection, there is no Christianity, or at least no argument for it.
