We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Folks in MT and in AZ, NM,NV have been working out all the details for several years now. You don't think that highway from Texas to Canada--straight up the middle--is all about bringing in cheap, but willing labor do you? It is about accessing and delivering water! Those highways easements are wonderful things! Tax payers pay the price for "free highways", and the water companies get the "free" profits. Not to mention the power--control of the water is absolute power!
I give Scott Brown top marks for brains and staying 'on message.' Yesterday Sen. Bob Kerrey made a statement that Mr. Brown didn't believe in the theory of evolution. One of Brown's staffers said last night, "Mr. Brown does believe in evolution, but he's willing to make an exception in Sen. Kerrey's case."
Nice... the use of the stiletto instead of the bludgeon. So far, I really like Scott Brown -- and it's not just because of that darling pic of him you printed for us a day or so ago. Thanks again, by the way.
Well, it finally happened online today. The Democrats are running a story on Scott Brown with the headline "Nude Model Runs for Senate." Of course, the nude model was not quite nude, thanks to a strategically placed hand and arm. And the photo was from a Cosmo spread back in 1982, when Mr. Brown was a [probably] impecunious law student of 23, just looking to finance his advanced studies. And there are much more grossly graphic pix on the Internet today, although few, I imagine, so delectable in content. But anything to bring a competitor down, the Democrats say.
