Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

So Mr. Obama says we're all "on the precipice". as far as healthcare is concerned. A politician accidentally tells the truth. It brings to mind a vision of a great horde of lemmings approaching the edge of a high cliff. "All right now, you lemmings. Get going. And you there, the one carrying the flag. Move to the front and lead, for gosh sakes. It's be fine. You'll love it. I promise."

Uh-huh.

Precipice? I'm thinking someone thought "we're at the brink…," then broke open a thesaurus to find something that sounds "smarter." Proving once again that The One's speechwriters are a bunch of morons.
