Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Climategate

WSJ:



...we do now have hundreds of emails that give every appearance of testifying to concerted and coordinated efforts by leading climatologists to fit the data to their conclusions while attempting to silence and discredit their critics. In the department of inconvenient truths, this one surely deserves a closer look by the media, the U.S. Congress and other investigative bodies.

Will the Mainstream Media ever report on this? Come, come. Of course they won't. It would be like trying to tell a nation full of 'Big Babies' that there is no Santa Claus. The combined wrath that would descend on the poor unfortunate Grown Ups who tried, no matter how gently, to point out the facts would shortly morph into physical violence of the most unpleasant kind. Remember ... "will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" and what followed? Of course Mr. Obama is much less elegant. He says, "You just shut up. We're going to have to clean up this [your] mess -- so just shut up."

I fear for the safety of the Grown Ups.

The vast majority of Americans will simply never hear about this controversy. Thank heaven for Fox News, the WSJ, and talk radio.
