Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Wall


Walker at Am Thinker begins:



Twenty years ago today an
architectural monument to human enslavement melted before the eyes of
the world:  The Wall, the horrific complex of barbed wire, mine fields,
police dogs, killing zones, and constant military guards was torn down
by East Germans who finally saw a chance for liberty. 

There was always something surreal about the Wall.  



Funny how Leftist utopias always require walls, thought police, machine guns and barbed wire. And thuggish dictators in control of everything. Read the whole thing.

Jews just read the story of the Tower of Babel in our weekly Torah portion.

This is the first totalitarian state - read it carefully.

One language, one right way - a society enamored with human technology (fired bricks).

They build the tower "lest we disperse".

To keep people from escaping...

G-d's solution makes such uniformity of thought impossible.

Funny how so-called democracies need COINTEPRO, Hoover in charge of the FBI for 80 years, the Bush admin tapping all of the internet, Vietnam, Columbia, Haiti, Grenada and a bunch of stupid, mindless dumbfucks to think they are free.

Maybe the wall was to keep people out. Ever thought of that? What are the walls of your house for?

Yes. If only the brain-drain from Westerners getting shot trying to sneak into The Workers' Paradise had lasted just a few more years, the triumph of Socialism would have garnered a brave new world of peace, love, and happiness. Funny thing indeed.

A very good read is Jeff Cooper's 'The Wall' in his compilation 'To Ride, Shoot Straight, And Speak The Truth". Spot-on and unforgettable.

And Funny Thing, where are all our Gulags? How come we can visit Cuba, and were free to visit the USSR? How come all those Bush=Hitler people aren't in jail? You obsess about the mote in America's eye, and ignore the log in that of our enemies.
