We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Bruce ... Thanks for finding this gem and putting it up today. It's a delight to hear and see. In my youth I was a professional folk singer in Milwaukee and had my own program on the CBS TV station there, and I have seldom heard a prettier sound [or seen prettier girls singing] than are shown here.
I'd love to hear you sing, if you have any recordings.
I grew up heavily in folk music, esp. socialist and labor but of all types from across the country, and still have a good collection to stir the blood and yearnings.
The Library of Congress has a major collection, some available online.
Bruce ... Some other folks on the Net on Neptunus Lex's site have been urging me to find some old tapes. I did find a concert tape I did at the Milwaukee Art Center in the late 1950s. Of course, it's pretty primitive recording equipment, but we found a sound man who has cleaned it up and we're making CDs for Christmas for family and friends. If you'll get the Maggiesfarmers to send you my address, we can work out a deal for me to send you one. Do you have any Richard Dyer Bennet?
