Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

How far removed from reality can the Litchfielders be? A yellow ribbon supports the troops? Our son 2years Iraq and 2 years Afghanistan and still counting. If the only thing that connects us with him and his buddies is a yellow ribbon that would be pityful. You send them mail, you carry them in your hearts and you pray for them and have prayer sessions if you feel that strong. But a yellow ribbon around a tree? get real Litchfield and quit hurting the trees by letting fungus grow under the ribbons. The prettier the towns, the further removed from reality it's citizens. Get a grip Litchfield.
