Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The Health Care bill has to be the biggest piece of crap I have read in awhile. This will put whatever we have left of our health care system down the WC. One of the basic reasons our health care went down the commode is when the DRG was implemented into the health care system. The DRG specified how long each patient with certain diagnosis was to remain hospitalized. The DRG never took into consideration factors that could extend a hospital stay. The DRG also specified how much Medicare would pay for services. The DRG basically have doctors and health care workers restrained in handcuffs.
