We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I gave all my children choices when they graduated High school.
3. Military service
4. Trade school
If I ever see any of you with a tattoo or shrapnel in your body there's a sixth choice. The Circus, now choose and choose wisely.
I realize I'm a bit off topic, but I saw jail in the topic.
Involuntary mental institutions ARE jails. We'd like to think we treat the inmates there less harshly, because we're not feeling as retributive towards them, but the fact remains that we're not willing to let them loose on the street, because they're too dangerous. But when you're involuntarily confined, buddy, you're in jail.
