Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Insane

These Dems in Congress are insane. They have no idea what they are doing. They are bargaining away America's medical freedom, doing any deal they can do, with zero consideration of unintended consequences or the costs, and trying for a government takeover of 1/5 of the economy. As if they could run anything successfully.


This is serious business to people, and not ordinary politics. They are trying to patch and rush this through before citizens have any idea of what they are doing. It is totally nuts and furthermore, I am not convinced that it is anything anybody really wants.


Dick Morris thinks so too.

It doesn't matter to them if the public wants this bill or not. The public didn't want the American Recovery and Rape Bailout, either, just as example.

The "public" be damned because the public is 9 to 1 for reelecting them no matter what they do.

Better hope that "Americans For Common Sense Health Care"- whatever the name of the anti-Democrat health care bill group- has a big war chest and some hard hitting negative ads ready to go on the air. There is so much to loathe about this insane bill that the creative ad agencies should be having a blast making the ads.

End result must be to tie up the Imperial Capital communications system as was done a few years ago when the equally insane open borders bill was on the agenda. Threaten all weak Democrats with opposition in 2010, and any GOP congresspeople dumb enough to go along with the Democrats. This is really a fight to the finish.

There's no question this is a phantom crisis. I had an interesting conversation recently with a med student that came in as a patient. I posted it at the link above.

I was in school when they tried this the last time (1993). We were in the height of crisis mode then. What we got was the polar opposite of what they tried to scare is into believing.

This sudden plunge into crisis mode again is a bald faced lie by the pols.
