Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Yeah, Steyn is fresh and fun and silly in the way that Rush used to be, but hasn't been for a long time.

Well, you admit you listen to Rush, otherwise you could not make a legitimate statement of preference for Steyn. Nobody's forcing you, you know.

We'll check in on Maggie's Farm in 20 years and see how you're doing.

Of course I listen to Rush. I just enjoy the change of pace, accent, and tone. Nothing against Rush at all.

That is a silly analogy. If you didn't like Aetna, you could switch to, say, United Health Care. But, if we have national health insurance, who are you going to switch to? Canada?

Don't listen to Rush all that often, kinda let my dittohead habit trail off sometime in the late 90's.

As to Steyn, I'm a fan. I'm not sure of the exact quote, but it sums our current national nightmare up perfectly....

ha. I love that quotation, too. Too funny. Too creepy.

As for criticizing BD for listening to Rush... what's up with that? In order to do these links day after day, BD, NewsJunkie, and Barrister scan hundreds of sites, and they certainly don't limit themselves to conservative sites. They know as much from the liberal side as the conservative side, so 'D' hasn't a leg to stand on - whatever his point was.

An insurance co. cannot nationalize your body.
In a free medical market, you can do whatever you wish to pay for, however you wish to pay for it. Not so in a govt monopoly, as in Canda.
