Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Sigh... Used to live in Fort Wayne IN. We had some lovely lightning storms. Now, back in Silicon Valley, we get wind and rain, but it is boring.

Of course, I don't miss the tornado warnings one bit. B-)

I feel your pain. I am living in Boise, Id. Where a 1/4 inch of rain is called a downpour. Lots to love here, but I do miss a good thunderstorm.

Great pic, it was pretty wild for a little while. Storms look great on Accuweather.com too. Exciting!

We've had 3.5 inches of rain in the last eight months. Yeah, that NOAA map that lists this area of Texas as in extreme drought is not telling the half of it.

Last night I could see lightening in the north and another storm in the west. Internet radar showed that both storms were about 100 miles away . Oh well, maybe next time.

The impressive thing about all this is that a few really skilled farmers are making crops among the fallow fields of the less skilled.
