Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Insty is on the job:



A TV LOW POINT: Turned on the TV to see Geraldo interviewing Tommy Mottola about Michael Jackson’s death. In the background, footage of the body being delivered to the coroner’s office by helicopter. Glad to see Fox is keeping us up on what’s really important, the night before a big cap-and-trade vote in Congress, while revolution simmers in Iran, and people are trying to nationalize healthcare.


On the upside, Mark Sanford is probably pleased.

Hollywood can turn on a dime, no? There they were, all the Hollywood Vacuumheads, gearing up to feign paroxysms of grief over Farah Fawcett, when they suddenly had to switch gears and feign paroxysms of grief over Michael Jackson.

Yeah, I hold them all in high regard, can't you tell...

No Ron. Society has lost one of the biggest influences in popular music of the last 50, maybe 100 years.
He was no child molester, though he was falsely accused of being one several times.
He may not have had the mental age of someone over 15, but we can hardly blame that on the guy.

He sure is a greater loss than Farrah Fawcett (who is she anyway except a pretty face with too big a mouth?) and indeed his passing is far less important than the rape of the constitution and economy going on on Washington.
But then again, that's hardly news anymore as it's been going on non-stop since 20 February.

You talking influence ? There are at least five hundred better American singer, song writers. (list available upon request)

Ass shaking in tight pants does not equate to :
"the biggest influences in popular MUSIC of the last 50 years."
That's childish poppycock . There is not a single tune he wrote or sang that will stand the test of time.

The only think that I will give him credit for is,
" Beat it, Beat it , just Beat it...and that sure won't cut it.

He was a Hollywood produced, hybrid, mutant freak who lusted after little boys under the age of ten.

Maybe some surgeon has had the M.J. nose for about 20 -25 years now. Maybe we’ll see it on ebay!

That doesn't reflect well on our culture the past 50-100 years.

Tragically this is really the only viable end to Michael's sad life.
