We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I'm having a little trouble reconciling your great respect for early Dylan, Andersen, and the like with the somewhat upper-middle-class New England affectations of you and your Maggie colleagues. I appreciate that cantakerosity is a cherished ideal across America, combined particularly with a generosity of spirit long known far and wide as symbolic of the American Dream. Yet the apparent unquestioning promotion of right-wingnuts (Ann Coulter? - lordluvaduck!) and the wholesale criticism of the most intelligent leader America has elected in 70-odd years lead me to think you just want to disturb some kaa-kaa for the hell of it. Well and good, but a disclaimer to that effect should preface the links.
I don't hold much truck with Dylan anymore, but I reckon Andersen wouldn't be on-side with many of the opinions espoused in the articles you flag.
