We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
What's striking to me is how typically (for themselves) they are dressed. Neil Young almost always appears in multiple layers, like that tee shirt, checkered shirt, topped by a vest. It's a look he has used consistently for years and years. Clapton, the somewhat reserved Englishman, so often is pictured in a casual shirt and jacket, at least since he has dried out.
Dylan in just jeans and a simple tee, so very American and straightforward. Yes, he has looked many parts over the years, but it just boils down to this.
So many of the hip and wannabes self consciously assemble a "look" for themselves. In this picture, it looks more like each just dressed like who they have become over the years, instead of some kind of artifice.
Then again, maybe they had a fashion coach fussing over every detail, waiting anxiously just outside the frame of the photographer's viewfinder. Ha
