We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Now maybe I missed something but if a bad guy has the bulge on you exactly how many rounds can he pump into you before you transform your flashlight into a semi auto?
a) 3
b) 4
c) a bigger number
There you go again Habu, messing up a nicely offered up thread to MM by pointing out something bad. Shame on you
I think I'll go watch Mary Poppins then do some Tai Chi to get right with the universe.
Oh well, I knew the days of the single-action, cocked-and-locked .45 Auto were drawing nigh . . . Magpul does do some interesting things, like the Masada and their AR-15 accessories; kinduva an engineer's playground, the way GM and NASA probably once were many Corn Festivals ago.
Maybe a nice Kimber carry piece in .45 or .40, though instead of the Flashlight.
Gwynnie ... How nice of you to post this stunning little video of the big sturdy guy and the sweet little machine gun. Like Jim, I marvel at how the young man "killed himself four times" while demonstrating it. I handle my Taurus with a lot more caution than he shows here. But then, I don't have to assemble it every time I use it, or I'd shortly be dead myself.
Thank you again for your thoughtfulness, Gwynnie. And Habu too, you rascal.
Ms. Marianne you exposed my rakish side and I plead guilty ... but to the meaning describing being well dressed.
I am a direct decendent of BGen. John Hunt Morgan, CSA Cavalry and by marriage of his sister a cousin to her husband, Lt.Gen. A.P. Hill, CSA. Both were considered bold , courageous, brave and manly. Ours is a family of warriors.
In high school I once had to throttle the school bully who was causing a girl I happen to like to cry. He lost great face and I being the only Southerner at State College High School in Pennsylvania felt very good about defending her virtue.
You are absolutely correct though, I can be a rascal.

Rastus, I already gave notice that you are not a spokesman for me. If you insist on posting in the manner you are with regard to acting as if you are speaking at my direction I am confident the owners will bar you if I request it
If you are supporting Rastus in his illicit use of my imprimatur then you are coming down on the side of anarchy which is usually not a state blogs nor people prefer.
Time will tell. BTW if you are referring to me, exactly what am I to be careful about? And exactly what am I losing?
Habu ... I just checked with my husband-the-historian and he recalls that his Civil War ancestor supplied horses to your Civil War ancestor, BGen. Morgan. I guess that makes us shirt-tail relatives. Kinda. At any rate, it makes me wish you lived next door so you could protect us during the coming conflict between the grown-up conservatives and the eternally childish Democrats.
Well that couldn't be more top drawer if Duncan Phyfe had built it himself.
It's a pleasure to be "a shirt tail cousin". I'm reading one of the several books about BGen John Hunt Morgan and they mention how well mounted he and his men were which is just about everything to a cavalryman.
Please give my best regards to your husband. Indeed it can be a small world.
