Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Congress is about to vote on the largest spending bill in history, and none of them have read it!?

If we had an honest press, it would be the headline of every paper.

NJSoldier ... The grown-ups [Republicans] would have read it but the Democrats wouldn't allow them to read the actual text, since the Democrats haven't bothered to read it themselves. So the Republicans are supposed to vote on it without having a chance to read all the verbal IEDs buried in it. The actual text is drafted by all those little recently graduated weenies who work as Congressional aides to such semi-literates as Nancy Pelosi.

There. Is that clear now? Congress is a Garden of Corruption and Pelosi is the snake.
