Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A Maggie's Farm Classic Log Cabin

I keep one of these little log cabins around the place, with pine incense. It's a cheery winter olfactory treat, but not just for winter.


The air goes in the door, and the smoke goes up the chimney. Few things for $12. can give so much enduring pleasure.


Does pine incense count as second-hand smoke? Naw.

This is very cool. The website also shows some bear or moose in the woods scene as well. Any other "woody" or outdoorsy scents other than pine?
And by the way, anyone know what's up with Theo? Blogger comes up as not found.

Theo had his site URL changed.
There are several sorts of nice-smelling things for these cabins. I like the piney.

In the early 70's my future wife and I use to rent a cabin on Mirror Lake at West Thornton, NH. West Thornton was off of Rt 3 about 5 miles south of N. Woodstock. The cabins were owned by a Mrs. PT Frost. She was a character. She had notes all over the cabin on proper procedures for everything. I should of asked her if she was related to Robert Frost. I"m sure shes long gone now. Anyway, we use to buy those log cabin incense burners, but we use to burn balsam incense in them. I've often thought of burning hashish in them, but it was too expensive.
