We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I spent a week at Sundance last month and while this film wasn't among the ones I was able to see, I heard multiple attendees say it was among the best and most powerful films they've ever seen. I'm looking forward to watching it.
There's always something in the works. Some retailers are using the fact of constant legislative attacks on the 2nd amendment as incentive for concerned consumers. It's not unreasonable. O's record on gun rights is deplorable and the Dem congress knows it has an ally in Obama. Our hope lies with moderate democrats whose constituency's loyalties may rest with their arms before ideology.
Latest concern is Blair Holt's H. R. 45, which is punitive towards gun owners and I believe requires licensing of owners as well as registration of all guns, (with annual fees accomanying said registration).
i wonder how far left it will be, though. kevin bacon is not quiet about his love for obama, etc...he and his actress wife were in the "it's a new day" video. i can't imagine he'd sign onto a project that didn't reinforce a leftist, anti-war, i still hate bush sentiment. i hope i'm wrong and that the takeaway message is one of honoring and respecting those who give their lives for this country.
