We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I felt so defeated watching that. Guns and heroin..... both the world's largest supplier. The discussion about the guy who started the heroin trade was interesting: It translated into 'concept'. Pretty sickening 'plan' and 'idea' all in one.
Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper for us to just buy up all those guns and the heroin, instead of sending our armies? Take a couple gold bars out of Ft Knox, melt them into gold sovereigns and go shopping.
I don't give a rat's fart what these gentle villagers do in their caves and their mountain eyries, as long as they keep it local. But they have a world view now and they have pretensions. The smiling gunvirgin with the RayBans narrating the video seems to believe this Paki version of Deadwood is untouchable by America. And it would be willingly untouched were it not for their zeal for exporting quaint mountain habits to Western capitals. Were they to stay cloistered and maintain a closed tribal existence, albeit maintained by an annoying heroin trade, that is one thing, but these tribes are being pressured to join world jihad and thus they house, hide and support people capable of doing great harm to our liberal societies. There is nothing about that town that cannot be addressed with a single B-52 payload. of course, we are not at that point yet and we do not yet have the will to inflict that kind of damage and probably won't, as President Obama is likely to become comfortable with drone-based assassinations, the 21st century version of the Clinton cruise missile approach. Some cultures need to be punished and this little backwater is one of them. Harsh words, yes, but that's where we are today. It always amazes me how videos such as this cause Americans to think they are defeated or that if they just buy the bad stuff, it will go away. These people want war with us - we should show them what that really means and buy ourselves some more time.
