Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Re: Kiss My Ass. Drudge has several headlines about this with the major one about the Politico snub. In India they're called "Untouchables". Here in America they're called 'rich' or 'privileged' for whatever reason. But neither can be touched as noted by Caroline Kennedy's withdrawal from her bid for governor. No one has the story, but I bet she could not tolerate people asking her questions. How dare they? It's evident she brooks zero criticism because no one has had the nerve to tell her she speaks like a drug-addled Valley Girl. And now Obama, privileged at last, is untouchable. He can't withdraw, but he can hide, and that will not be a good thing for the candidate who promised transparency. It will be interesting to see how Mr. Slick handles it.

Caroline Kennedy's old money has of course insulated her from the real world from the day her of birth. There are some life's lessons she'll never learn. Common folk jump through hoops to make her happy ( it's about money & being in the presents of Royalty) she believes and wants to believe the smoke that's been piped up her behind....It takes a well grounded individual to Recognize and Resist a professional suck-ass, most of us are not up to that task,has to do with ego, i'm thinking. ( G.W.B. said, " I never sold my soul". )

Barrack Obama is a man without a solid foundation and will succumb to most every two-bit, flim-flam, bling wearing, Hip-Hop artist, liberal special interest group & beggar that comes through the White House Gate without constant adult supervision. That service will expire sooner rather than later....then he'll need medication or a complete re-wiring.

In the meantime we'll pick up the tab.

Really thoughtful, Ron. "It takes a well grounded individual to Recognize and Resist a professional suck-ass,..." and "Obama is a man without a solid foundation ...". I'd only add to the ego part by saying there is an element of delusion going on in both egos - as if the walls of their egos are so fragile that they are incapable of disengaging any idea from its personal attachment. That has probably always been the case with Caroline, but Obama is succumbing fast, as you say, because he has no foundation. Very pointed observation about the 're-wiring' he'll need when the adulation wears off.
