Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Wooly Mammoths rumored seen in Bismarck and Hanover

Bismarck. Global cooling is our new crisis. New Hampshire is in the deep freeze, with ice storms and unseasonable cold - and their power is out. Not mine.

All we can do to help is to drive our Hummers to the mall.

Eagerly awaiting explanation from Al Gore.

Oh, he did have something to say: North Pole to disappear in 5 years. Is that a promise? So how come the ice cap is growing? And who cares anyway?

His fear-mongering hyperbole has turned him into a joke.

Our power just came on last night (it's been out since Thursday) but many around us still have no power in New Hampshire.

I was thinking of Blago speculating about a 2016 run for the presidency even after he learned of the surveillance he was under via the Trib. Gore is the same way--these people seem to have worked on a premise of AUDACITY, which worked out for them but when the jig is finally up they persist because they don't have other resources (like honesty and humility).

An aside, didn't Obama's wife get an $100k+ raise immediately following his election to the Illinois senate, which preceded her employer reaping benifits at the hands of her newly minted senator husband? I can't remember the details but I'm almost sure this was the case. In Obama's quest for a new New Deal, rebuilding the infrastructure of America, prepare for more power outages as responsiblities get auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Romans! Get out your fiddles.

Having grown up in icy Wisconsin, I have great sympathy for you New Englanders in your present painful situation. The people I live among now [Texans all] have very little idea of how cold, cold is, especially when accompanied with wet and icicles and snow. Lots of snow. We have another kind of hazard -- Hurricanes, and they have their own special pains. But I wish you all relief, and soon, from the ice and the snow and the lack of power.

As for Al Gore, that bloated, self-satisfied idiot, may he get fatter and fatter until he blows up. He has cost and is costing many countries a disgusting amount of money invested in the faulty idea that CO2 is a pollutant and should be gotten rid of. Maggiesfarmers know better. And so do I.
