Ah yes, toxic wives..My first marriage at the tender age of 26 was to a stewardess who could have been Victoria Principles (Dallas fame)double.

This was in 1974 and she was $7,000 in debt. I paid that off for her, built a home for us in Redondo Beach , Ca and bought her a 911 Porsche. Along the way I violated some cardinal rules of tradecraft....trust no one...during pillow talk I had mention a few of the places I'd been.....when things started to go sour for various reason she began to blackmail me saying she was going to tell the columnist Jack Anderson all about what I'd said.

I went to my boss after she mentioned her intent the second time and he said, "don't worry about it , we'll take care of it, just no more sloppy habits, Ok?"

In the final six months until we divorced she never made a peep about my work.

The Chinese say a womans tongue is her sword and she takes care never to let it rust. In her case the Company put some heavy rust on that tongue. She was a shrew and I was never happier that when I walked out Rhett Butler like.
