We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Thanks BD for featuring that site. It's far from entertaining --but is at least as bracing as it is depressing.
His message is prescriptive: if you think you might be suffering from deception, try observing from different angle.
His main point seems to be that all this "history" trailing out behind us is not nearly as helpful to us (nurturing our human 'feel-good' bias as we do) as it is to the lethally powerful states-within-states inside our continental rivals have ancient dark-age ambitions that America's very being will always thwart, and who understand (as we, due to our always-facing-election-thus-always-happytalk leadership, almost institutionally do not) that before it actually happens, history is known as "the future".
Habu, as luck would have it, the Dripping Springs area has lately undergone somewhat of a reversal, insofar as concerns the so-called "public health issue", and most of the survivors (reportedly) have gone into recuperation and hiding in the so-called "world's best place to move to", that is, the Big Rock Candy Mountain state of Montana. Thats what i heered anyways
Thank for the link to that fantastic (horrifying) site. I am very worried that he is exactly right. Our turbulent times now are likely just the beginning of many years of difficult and dangerous economic and geopolitical conditions. We are all blinded by the prosperity and easy life we've had since WWII. Depressions and world wars can happen in our lifetime too.
Buddy, another thank you for the link. Ditto on what Captain Obvisousness said.
