We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Thus far this morning, the bird feeder outside my office window has been dive-bombed by a Red-Tail Hawk - on right - after a squirrel (he missed), and by a Sharp-Shinned Hawk - below - after an English Sparrow (he got it by pursuit, crashing through the shrubs). Not my photos, obviously.
My computer sits overlooking a park of my open backyard and then slips into dense Florida woodlands. I often see the red tail making a kill. It's like way kool man, nature and all just bust'n a Mutual of Omaha moment in my yard.
My sunroom window got dive-bombed by the sharp-skinned hawk yesterday, although I don't believe there were any casualties. Every once in a while, we see a neat-as-a pin pile of pigeon feathers in the backyard and know what happened.
