We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Soros' Move-On is still in business. This is post-election, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Free medical care seems to be one of their goals, but I think they want lots of free stuff from what others produce. It's quite evident that they do not know how to produce anything themselves.
It's hard to see how such feckless people can be effective, but there is no doubt that they now feel individually "empowered" by Obama. How nice for them. (h/t, Moonbattery). These people are "the useful idiots," as Lenin termed them. It's a fund-raising scam. Not that they need it, if Soros is really paying for the thing...
Oh dear--looks like a faculty meeting. We want to collaborate--we want to collaborate--we want to collaborate. Well then who is going to be responsible for the failed decisions? oh well we don't to place blame. Well who is going to be the spokesperson--we all are--no one person shall have more responsiblity, or input, or control than the others.
What happens next you may ask? the meanest, the sneakiest, and the most deceptive of that crowd will do "WHATEVER it takes" to take control . You see there is something truly flawed about a group of people who cannot appoint a leader-- I have seen nothing more destructive to this nation than the theories of "collaboration" and "non-meritocracy" in this country's schools.
Well put, faculty wife, you must suffer in silence. You will also notice the older people (who can't run digital cameras) who provide both money and "legitimacy" to the effort. They are sincere if befuddled. The younger people are the mean, deceptive ones who will seize control. However the one older woman seems to dimly realize that they are being used.
Look at the project they propose. A series of pictures of people holding signs about "Change" and "Agendas". This is about as pointless a political effort as you could think of, but they can collect e-mail and real addresses for fundraising in the process. This allows them to pursue their actual agenda far from the public eye.
What a pathetic bunch of losers! I take great comfort knowing that these people can not possibly be the least bit effective. Bunch o' unhappy witches and one or two neutered metrosexuals either too old or to fey to be a force to reckon with.
The only display of spine was quickly shouted down for daring to use profanity! Hey Obama, you were carried to victory on the backs of the castratos and the wiccans! Good luck with that! (Is that really how they clap on the Upper West Side?)
These people have no life. I was not a supporter of Obama, but even if McCain had won a follow up by his supporters would not have been necessary. We know what we voted for. These people have no idea what they voted for, and are now acting out of fear.
They lack vision, they lack proper discipline in action and thought, they lack a general understanding of how REAL AMERICANS (yes, I said it) do things. I live in New York and I actually know some of these people. They are not stupid people. But they are not smart, either. Their insular world ends at the East River and the Hudson. Nothing outside of Manhattan infects their lifestyles. Nor would they want it to - they are far above the life I lived. To hear stories of my hunting, trapping, and skinning (yes, I skinned animals for money as a youth) days, they wrinkle their noses and roll their eyes.
Those days of my youth were the 1970's, a period we are about to revisit economically. These young folk don't have a clue what it was like, except that they like listening to the music because it's quaint in a funny way. As a result, they think their activities mark some kind of reality - when in reality they are a farce of activity.
Nobody except a precious few urbanites want what these people are selling. They confuse voting for Obama with voting for Socialism. While I still fear the Socialist backlash to come, most people are NOT ON BOARD with it. But they do not see it....they cannot see it...they refuse to see it, because they are blinded by their loyalty to the false ideology they support.
(reaching for bottle of aspirin) I'm baffled about what in the heck these people are striving to accomplish.
I've watched the video twice (well, kinda sorta - it's so unfocused and incoherent and annoying, that my mind started to wander both times). Most of this video demonstrated a lot of misplaced energy and a total lack of respect for each other. Too many followers with no leader is the biggest problem. They're raising funds for what exactly? Sending photos of "Change" and "Agenda" to Washington? Why? For what purpose, except to make the originator of the idea feel oh-so-clever in his/her ambiguity? Because the photos are supposed to be more dramatic than letters or emails? Or are they needed for a costly photo collage?
Maybe having them hire a marching band of chimps spell out "We Blindly Trust and Exalt You, Obama" would be a better choice for these clueless, naive, sophomoric libs. Or, the more appropriate "Useless Idiots."
