Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

What arrogance! To think a president can even start to fix the world. How about just trying not to screw it up more? No more Freddie Macs, market to market rules, entitlements that we can't afford, etc...
With our new president elect and generations coming up with no cohesion to the United States, just a "We are the World" zeitgeist what I am proposing has no chance of success but it does harbor the seeds of our destruction.
What I propose is a complete immigration embargo on all Islams. The entire world has had nothing but trouble from this philosophy since the bastard who dreamed it up began raping fourteen year old girls. The US has had trouble with them since we became a nation. Their demographics alone will overwhelm us soon enough and the Constitution, what's left of it, will become an adjuct document to sharia law. I'll be dead and gone but for you who have children and expect them to have children you are leaving them a world of horror if we do not eliminate large numbers of Islams worldwide, now. But as I said this nation has gone too far past the tipping point to ever save ourselves. Too many citizens can't even identify the problems, much less work on a solution. To lose it to those bastards, what a pity. Habu, the seeds of our destruction have become plants with buds on them. I have tried many times to figure out where all my rage comes from. I think the center of it is sadness. Sadness at what has happened to my beloved country, and my inability to do anything constructive to stop it. There are so many beach heads to defend. I guess the key would be to pick one, and channel all my energy into defending it.
Try my role reversal life: Spent my early years being one of those getting maced by State Troopers while protesting at Seabrook and having high tea with Abbie Hoffman while discussing revolution and saying to Authority "Don't you see what's going on here!?"
Now I have highballs with the likes of Karl Rove, discuss revolutionary concepts with my priest and feel like shouting to the New Authority, "Don't you see what's going on here!?" Jappy,
I share your feeling of sadness and agree fully that we are under assault from within as well as from without. This part you may not agree with but I see it as the genesis of our problems today. The turning point was Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka followed by LBJ's Great Society which entrenched the idea that you could get money for nothing. The fifty year continuation of treating African Americans as a special class while allowing the taproot of white guilt to burrow deeper into the nation has been a disaster by almost every measure one wants to look at. Once a nation quits teaching its history, or worse having a revisionist history rewritten then it begins to lose cohesion. We are now so multiethnic that the Caucasians that made this country great are held in distain by almost all other ethnicities within this country who eschew any manner of cohesion to our nations past. They want retribution and to place the Caucasian in the dock for crimes committed over a hundred years ago. We have dumbed down our public school system predominately to provide a diploma to those who can't read, write or do long division. The Federal government forced hiring quotas on business' and they in turn had no choice but to hire someone they knew wasn't the best qualified. Now the multicultural USA has a plurality of races that have no allegiance toward this country but continue to live, not in a symbiotic relationship but a parasitic one. Perhaps Obama will be a lagniappe for them but somehow I doubt it. And so it goes, the angry white man watching what millions of his ilk have built being crushed under the burden of an entire class of non productive people who recently voted 98% for their racial candidate without knowing anything about him. Yep , we have a feast of trouble before us. "Once a nation quits teaching its history,..."
Habu, You probably already read it: 'American Thinker', book for kids about Obama, simply titled, "Barack". It's linked above. Utterly mindblowing, just stunning in its stupidity and mindlessness. I'd be like the author who has a young son and storm the school if they taught the book. Half the people in this country have lost their minds. Jappy, I feel as you do. Helpless. But not hopeless. As soon as we get 'Mumbaied', a few will regain sanity and maybe bring about a much needed turning point to restore some unity. ` Habu, I don't disagree with anything that you wrote. Somewhere between Kennedy's assassination, and Vietnam we lost something as a country. Call it our innocence or our soul, but something has been out of wack ever since. It fits your time line with LBJ's great society. Your insight into education is right on. I have a carpenter friend who hired a college kid that could not even read a tape measure! and I'm sure long division would blow this kid away too.
Meta, I hope to God we don't get Mumbaied, but I think your assessment to regain some unity is needed. As Americans we have such short term memories. Maybe we should show videos once a week of Americans jumping out of the Twin Towers. That should rekindle our passion, and ignite our resolve, and unity.

Isn't this just the 1960s chaotic worldview of peace, love, free sex, dope and misconceived economic equality?
They had the luxury of those idiotic views because of the wealth created by their parents. They were the first true generation to grow up with more free time and cash from Mom and Dad. All of the idealism! John Lennon wrote "Imagine" and people bought it hook, line and sinker. It's the communist national anthem for God's sake! The problem is that many of these folks never grew up emotionally or intellectually and now they are running the government. They destroyed every other institution they passed through, why not the US government? Hang on to your socks!

I think the quotas for muslims coming in will go up, if we watch closely. It's madness, for sure. But look what the fools elected.
There's an outside chance the Supreme Court may intervene. Donofrio actually has a pretty good case if the SC wouldn't just punt it away. I'd rather have 20 million Mexicans than 2 million muslims. We're going to get both.
Yall hav'm both already, bob.
Add to the mix that White House negro elect is a Shite who promises $billions$ to build American madrassas throughout the globe to teach Muhammadans what America is REally all about, yall may rest in the the Muslim Messiah's assurance to American public that help is on the way. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122809281744967855.html
Interesting account India "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep." As far as Muslims are concerned, I'm with Habu on the idea of having a complete cessation of any more Muslim immigration into our country. We can do very well without them, friends, VERY well, and much worse with them. Our future is dangerously dark if we allow any more Muslims to become citizens. Houston has gotten a very large and growing number of Muslims in the past 10 or 15 years. I've tried to get estimates of the number of Muslims we have in this city and there is, curiously enough, no public information available about it. I tried to get an estimate of how many mosques we have in the city, and how large their congregations are, to get an estimate of Muslim population from another direction. Still no information, and I incurred suspicious reactions on why I want the information.
This is distressing. There are a number of Muslim physicians in the city, which is a health center for the whole American southwest, and for northern Mexico too. Think about this for a minute. The Muslim attitude toward women in their society is that we don't matter as much as men -- any men. We are merely chattel in their religious concepts, and easily disposable if the Man of the House has a tantrum. A few months ago, a Muslim taxi driver in Dallas killed his two teenaged daughters because they were too popular with their schoolmates. In the light of this, and other similar facts, how dependable would a Muslim physician be in taking care of the feminine half of our population? i sure as heck don't want a Muslim physician caring for me, and I have told my husband so. In their world view, women are disposable, one is as good as another, and they need to be repressed and kept down. I have always been broadminded and accepting of different ethnic groups, aware that valuable talent comes packaged in many different forms, but these people genuinely terrify me. Limiting their emigration to our shores, and interdicting their applications for citizenship seems only prudent. Sorry if I seem prejudiced, but I guess I am. Cautious would be more like it. Marianne Why I'm not prejudiced at all. I hate everyone equally, I don't even like myself. . . . . . . . . . I think I've posted that here once before. I would never hate you una bella! Hope you are well!
Marianne,
If the Islamic philosophy was a peaceful one I would have less trouble dealing with it. But it is not. It is THE most aggressive philosophy on the planet to the point where they are duty bound to kill those who do not convert or accept dhimmitude. I have said many times in this forum and others that Islam is immiscible with EVERY other religion on Earth. That is a religion /philosophy that the world needs to put away as much as any mass destruction biological element such as weaponized anthrax. And as you are aware they have been at war with the world forever. It is not difficult for me to promote limited genocide to bring their numbers into a position where they would be incapable of simply taking over free nations by out populating them. They will not hesitate to wipe out entire populations should they ever take over and those who do not recognize that are sadly misinformed. Google dar al Islam and dar al Harb.
After you read that, you will not feel as if you are prejudiced anymore. Anyone who looks at Islamic theology and thinks about it honestly becomes troubled by its implications. It can't be explained away by the Islamic apologists even though they try. Marianne, I've wanted to say before how much I like how you write, and what you write. So I take this opportunity.
I agree with you completely. jappy ... you're a sweet man, and somewhat depressed lately, as we all are at the state of the world. We like you and approve of you constantly. So don't begin to dislike yourself.
I suspect that my polemic above will anger some people more than others. It's the result of the Mumbai massacre and the realization that so-called Western thought is a cohesive, relatively tolerant, life-loving thought, while, from what I can see, Muslim thought is disruptive and death-loving -- death to strangers, death to The Others, death to disobedient inferiors. This whole philosophy is actively dangerous to Western thought, as I see it, and we need to wake up and recognize the threat for what it is. Okay, guys [and ladies] jump on me if you need to, but let's keep it in the tradition of Western debate, with the gloves on. Marianne A wee bit o'mirth;
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. (waiting for attack) The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either.. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental. 1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. 2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. 3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy. 4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. 5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.' 6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.' 7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!! But wait, there's more! I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank. I was born and reared in the Old South , where as a boy was taught to have a special respect of the women folk, to cherish and protect from harm... altho I'm still not too sure they are the weaker vessel.
When I see on the television a Muslim man driving women down the road with a stick as a heard of animals, I wonder how his god would approve of such treatment of one of his creations. I know my God would not approve. In this day of government mandated political correctness, hate crime laws, thought police,thin-skin everybody, it's difficult to draw a line in the sand to stand up for the values we hold dear...how much further must/can this country pushed? Ron,
Your last paragraph is tremendously germane with regard to a people holding their values together in a cratering society. In the past what develops are vigilante organizations. It would not surprise me to see a revival of that type of response to some of the rancid behavior we see daily. Our government is more dysfunctional every decade as is the case with most governments. It finally comes down to civil disobedience and homogeneous groups protecting themselves. Our weakening economy is accelerating the process. Soon we will hear of higher crime rates as the junkies and scofflaws get more deperate..I guess that would be BO's old clients. I believe that decision is closer than any of us care to acknowledge. In regards to loving personal freedom, I still have regard for the Aussies.
