Okay, I think I've figured it out.

If you'll look on the left side of the picture, you can see someone's left hand. Look closely at the hand and what do you see?

A thumb ring.

Think a guy's going to wear a ring on his thumb? Or do you think it's more likely that some cheap floozy would?

So-o-o...

It's 3 o'clock in the afternoon, time for an afternoon delight, the press suddenly barges in, the chick dives under the desk and Obama grabs the phone and pretends like he's talking into it, not noticing that it's upside-down.

At that point, it was easy for Obama's crew to later spread the rumor that the picture was photoshopped.

Sure, it sounds unlikely, but as Sherlock Holmes said to Watson, "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"

And how else to explain his unidentified lady friend?

On a different subject, have you guys seen "Smokin' Aces"? Damn, what a cool movie. Totally confusing the first time through -- but it doesn't make any difference. I wrote a small review on my site. Great surprise ending.

Speaking of surprise endings, "The Illusionist" had the best surprise ending since "The Usual Suspects" -- and that's saying a lot. If you haven't seen it, toss it in ye olde Netflix queue.
