Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Photo Op

Even if you are faking it for a photo op, you might have the presence of mind to get the phone right. On the other hand, maybe the younger generation doesn't know how to use a land line. (OK, maybe it's photoshopped. The truth, these days, is getting harder and harder to discern...not that it was ever easy.)

Oh har de har. It is to laugh.

Of course, one DOES wonder what exactly the deal is. He does not look like he is posing for anything, let's face it. He looks to be bone weary, which does happen in these campaigns. And note that someone off to the side is on the floor. Looks like the aftermath of one of those all-night phone bank fundraising sessions or something along those lines.

I sometimes hold the phone like that when I do NOT want to hear what is coming out the other end. In this case, though, I think it's a matter of sheer numbness.

The horror of the age is, at any unguarded moment, there's someone around with a cell phone cam. Little brother is watching.

You guys do understand that it is possible to manipulate a photo for humorous effect. There is the logo of a parody site in the corner, after all.

I've heard that certain members of Bird Dog's coterie do it from time to time.

I wouldn't want you to continue on down this road, like my cat going around the back of the mirror looking for that other cat that must be back there some where.
