Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A cruise I plan to take

Several of us Maggie's Farmers enjoy visiting Scotland and Turkey (the fact that we love visiting Italy goes without saying, and our Italian- and Latin-speaking Dylanologist will be there soon, working this summer).

Turkey has the exotic feel, the food, the people, the scenery - and the history. This is how I plan to do my next visit to Turkey.

Meanwhile, I hear from Bird Dog that he is planning to join a church trip to Israel. He has been to Turkey, too, and loves the country.

My wife and I travelled to Turkey to visit friends some time ago. We stayed in Istanbul and explored the city, and we travelled to Edirne as well as Sile. We have an invitation to visit again, but I don't know when we'll be able to go. We both love Turkey, so we're eager.

You're going to have a fine trip by the looks of it. Good sailing!
