Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Christmastime Generosity

Where your treasure is, there will also be your heart. Matthew 6:21

Americans are the most giving, generous people in the world. They may hate giving money at gunpoint (taxes), but they take great joy in giving by choice.

If you feel the desire to give either money or time this Christmas, I highly recommend The Salvation Army to you as a worthy recipient.

(Full disclosure: Besides various local charities and my usual membership donations to orgs like the NRA, The Ruffed Grouse Society, and many others, this year I am giving larger checks to The Salvation Army, my prep school, The Nature Conservancy, my church, Ducks Unlimited, World Vision, Doctors Without Borders, and the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund)
