We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Justice Kennedy rules the Court

The swing guy has all of the power on a court with Clinton-appointed frozen-in-time 60s-era Leftist judicial activists on it. Nice summary by Betsy.

Apparently the joys of a sunny, golf-filled Florida retirement are not yet beckoning Justice Stevens or "Sleepy" Ginsberg. Power is difficult to give up, and to pass on to younger folks. It is getting to be a pattern where these Justices want to die in the saddle. Plus it's an easy job for the Justices: their associates do all the lifting, and the perks and vacation time (June to October) can't be beat. A pretty good gig, except for the lousy government pay. Senile dementia is no problem, because you have tenure and only God can fire you!

I have seen this site described as "centrist" several times in tha past.

Could you please cite five to ten examples of "centrists" that would represent MF's centrism?

PLEEZ. PLEEZ. PLEEZ. Somebody, please take a look at the video tapes from Ginsberg's review before confirmation. When answering questions she holds her ear, she waits for an unusual time, she speaks using her ear.I believe that given the events of the last four years, if we were to have access to Ginsberg's committee tapes we would see a woman waiting to receive the correct anser in her earpiece.

PLEEZ someone take a look at the tapes!

Bill Kristol just now on FoxNews mentioned that Kennedy has been the swing vote on all 24 of this court's 5-4 decisions. Is he reading the blogs?

I bet they all read the blogs. ha ha. Can you see 'em honkered up close to their monitors reading ACE ? hahaha... "Oh, my."

I love Bill Kristol. I like to watch him looking at Juan Williams when Juan is talking. The camera people have learned not to show Brit when Juan is talking.

I agree--lawyer/psychologist/commentator Krauthammer with that liquid intelligence, Kristol trying to appear to take Williams seriously, Hume steaming off-camera--it is a riot, that show. FoxNews has just ruined all the other broadcasters & cables, for me. The legacy nets seem drained of blood, as if they're afraid they're gonna accidentally actually say something.
