Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

How to avoid finding a qualified US worker

"Our goal is clearly not to find a qualified US worker." In Wizbang's words,

...a shocking video of a law firm offering a seminar to employers that teaches them how to deliberately avoid having to hire US workers so as to get guest workers on an H-1b visa. If the immigration bill that's currently in the Senate actually becomes law, be prepared for a massive effort by companies to find ways to dump American workers in favor of guest workers. Note how the speaker says that employers are "unfortunately" required to go through all resumes submitted for a job.

They are doing nothing wrong! Just working the will of the Emirs of Incumbistan so that Electistanians know which jobs they cannot do. They are very good at that, these supporters of Incumbistan and so much wiser than we poor individuals of Electistan... I pointed out such grand wisdom ( http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2007/06/incumbistan-and-its-vassal-state.html ) and we Electistanians should be happy that Incumbistan has followed the route of Saudi Arabia to ensure that there is nothing that Electistanians can do... so wise of them!
