Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"I want to take those profits..."

Did Hillary actually say that? Yes, I heard it. And I think she means it.

Not only is it creepy - it is even creepier that the MSN is not reporting it. This is Chavez-type stuff. If she truly believes that she can "take" those profits, whose profits can she not "take"?

And, by the way - is she forgetting who gets those profits? Regular Americans, in their IRAs. And is she forgetting who earns them? Lots of people who work far harder than she does, and are far smarter too. Exxon is one of the best-run businesses in the world, dealing with the most volatile of markets, and contending with endless governmental constrictions of what they want to do (eg, building refineries, or obtaining product). Those restrictions, of course, drive the price of oil upwards.

Hillary's College Thesis: Has she changed since then?
Via Hot Air. My views have changed since college, but I'm not so certain about her.  If she can say things like this, one must wonder. More worrisome, I think, is that she can say things like that and not be crucified by the press and the voters.

I too heard Hillary words. Words spoken by communists like Castro and Stalin,Chavez and all the other socialist /communists of the past. It is a naked ramping up of our already Marxian "from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs" dictum.
Will she then turn to other industries and proclaim caps on profit?
Hillary is a bright but dangerous person to a democratic republic. Bright because she realized that she would have to toil by moving toward a more centrist position over a few years in order to be able to lure the casual onlooker/voter into believing she was indeed "just middle of the road".
This has all been a ruse for the rubes. She is as dedicated a Marxist/socialist as Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.
She would expropriate the earnings from thousands and thousands of stockholders who took the risk of investing their hard earned,ALREADY TAXED money, and placed into the hands of corporations they believed would perform for them. Once having performed, their expectation of higher dividends or share price is what drives the success of companies and the investment belief of the shareholders.
Hillary would cap what you could make. She would TAKE your profits because they, in her Marxian economics,was theft from those unable to invest or unwilling to take the risk.
Did you notice the old set of the jaw, the flashing eyes, and the adrenaline "pump" she had when speaking those words? That is Hillary. What we have seen over the past three or four years is a shadow play, a hoax of Hillary.
Most troublesome is that she is not alone in this thinking. She will have the Democratic Party at her back and the Democratic zombies, the coalition of disparate groups all pulling for her to pull capitalism deeper into the fetid swamp of socialism.
If you want to become a second rate power and have more government than you've ever experienced in your life then follow this woman. If you do not then snuff out her attempt by actively resisting her natural predisposition to the accumulation of all power. She is a dangerous and calculating person antithetical to our entire history. She would be King.

Maybe she can help educate Americans about how risk is inimical to progress and how pointless luxuries such as pudding burgers or feminine products distract americans from progress. The more americans are distracted, the less progress is made. Perhaps Europe should look to Africa and the Arabs for people who still have a hunger for progress without a pathological hatred for risk aversion.

The idea that risk and success need to be punished will nevere die in the socialistically-inclined. However, the socialistically-inclined never produce anything much, do they?

They tend to be among the parasitic classes.

Hillary is the best thing in the world for the Republican Party. Even people fed up with Bush, the war, and the Republicans, will vote against Hillary.

I think the overall idea, the uber-notion of the high brain-trust of the left, is to degrade everything, from schools, to ethics, to morals, to spirituality, to virtue, to national sovereignty, to the economy & private property holding, in order to keep enough poor people around to vote them into office long enough and strong enough to ensconce themselves as an untouchable American nomenklatura.

White House, he was carrying a baby hog under each arm.

The squared-away Marine guard snapped to attention, saluted, and said: "Nice pigs, sir."

The President replied "These aren't actually pigs. They're authentic Arkansas Razorbacks. I got them for Senator Hillary Clinton."

The squared-away Marine, staring straight ahead, exclaimed,
"Excellent trade, SIR."

Back at you buddy larsen. You have to get around the propaganda to get to the heart of the matter and going by your comment you have not done enough research on the matter.
