Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Or you can be like my mom who won't throw away anything that she paid good money for and is still in usable condition.

To her throwing such an item away is like tossing out hard earned money.

I wish it was available locally.

I recently lost my wife, who was a total Packrat. I'm having Hell's own time of clearing out some of the debris, because every time I start doing so, every third thing I pick up has memories of where it came from and why she had it, and it gets a bit dusty for five minutes or so. I don't get much accomplished, most days.

Sadly, the closest place it's available from here is in Dallas, which is about 200 miles off thataway.

It looks to me like the kind of thing that ought to go over fairly well in a whole lot of smaller places, if they expand their coverage.

A little intelligence and competence on the part of the people doing the work, and it could be a fairly lucrative career move. I'd pay well to get it done, and there would be a whole lot of stuff available for salvage and/or resale to the persons doing it for me.

Having someone interested & engaged while they are helping is valuable.

Not available in my area either. Depending on what 'area' of expertise you choose, sounds like a very interesting side-gig.
