We've had indian meal moths (a common pantry moth) come in on bulk-bin items purchased at the local 'international' food market, and recovery was a 3 step process:
1: close inspection of pantry contents to find the likely source item and dispose of it.
2: buying in a bunch of well-sealing plastic bins to hold the other grains, pulses, etc.
3: putting out the Terro pantry moth traps and checking them to make sure that the number of additional caught moths quickly decreases to zero.

We recently cleared my parent's old house, and many of the clothing and bedding items that passed through in the process showed evidence of moth damage. So I bought two different sorts of clothing moth traps -- partly on the theory that different pheremones would be differently effective at different types of moth. Dr. Killigans and Mottenfalle. I'd previously had good success with clothing moth traps from Safer and Enoz, but they weren't 'in stock' when I needed them. As it turned out, I've not seen any moths in these traps this time, so it was probably a false alarm.

My understanding from researching this in the past is that the moths that come in on food and the moths attracted to clothing and carpets are not really the same, and require different attractants when you are trying to trap them.
Also, the traps are supposed to be 'indicators' so that you can evaluate the extent of your problem, but for me they seem to work well as 'mop up' for the remaining moths and larvae after I've done the obvious laundering and freezing treatments for clothing and purging and cleaning treatments for pantry shelves. It helps to live in a place with zub-zero outdoor temperatures, a few February nights out in the car will kill just about anything.
