We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Most of what we have "known" to be true over the last 3000 years has been proven wrong. Even then it is not uncommon that some of these wrong ideas and theories resurface and are again believed until they are once again proven to be wrong. Global warming or climate change is a great example of this.
Good to know all those other people are wrong, ain't it?

GOOD? How about frightening? To know that SOME people are wrong and unwilling to consider they might be, but willing to make decisions for the rest of us based on their wrongheadedness.

Good Feynman quotes! I can't place the first one, but the second one is from the commencement address he gave at Caltech in 1974: Cargo Cult Science. It's worth reading the whole thing.

The AJC had a poll that said only 2% of Georgians were in favor of Governor Kemp's decision.
But then, they are very competent at polling because they only poll their readership.
They are ALWAYS opposed to whatever Republican Governors do.
