We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I watched some this morning. The 3 left wing professors/lawyers were incredible. I mean incredibly bad. The drama and over the top claims. They cited all the hearsay and opinions from Schiff's clown show as "proof" that Trump had committed impeachable acts. The primary Democrat questioner is a lawyer with connections to Obama, Hillary and the DNC (no bias there). He pretty much ignored Turley only asking yes or no questions to something Turley had said in the past and cutting Turley off when he wanted to put context into his response. IMHO the three professors displayed such ignorance and immaturity that it is impossible to believe that they actually teach law. I shut it off after about an hour of that foolishness.
Here is my problem with all of this: There is clear evidence of real wrongdoing by Democrats, FBI, CIA, DOJ, Obama and everyone on his cabinet. AG Barr has the evidence that is still being kept under wraps. Why in the hell are the Republicans sitting on this??? It needs to be released, some high level perps need to be arrested and charged. I want justice, I don't understand why the Republicans don't want it too.
If I were Trump I would begin releasing some of Obama's involvement in the 2016 election meddling. Every official phone call and meeting Obama had is transcribed and available to Trump. The left is going to bury Trump and remove him from office he needs to throw this stuff over the transom of every news outlet in America.
Jonathan Turley quoting Robert Bolt’s dialogue between More and and his soon to be son in law was the highlight of the entire day (not that I watch the entire day, who could?). Maybe me wife and meself will rewatch A Man For All Seasons tonight . . . we’ve got the DVD.
Yikes, not what I was expecting at all. Nadler might as well have pulled some fatuous geezers away from their shots and beers, at the local. I was expecting an argument that was easily understood, eloquent, and elegant that explained the points of law, tied together the half baked mishmash of wild conjecture, hearsay mindreading, and innuendo, even justified it, like a summation from a competent trial attorney. .
There isn't enough $ in the world to get me to exchange one second of my life to watch any of this. It's just a bunch of educated adults trying not to sound like "I hates him, he's soooo mean" and "did too, did too".
