We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Of course no normal business operation would ever hire students such as these. However, it is my understanding that graduates from liberal arts schools such as Evergreen go to work exclusively with NGO's, many of which are of a leftist bent. The silver lining in this cloud is that these graduates simply lack the self-discipline to perform any kind of productive work whatsoever. Thus, the NGO's that become riddled with these kind of employees will become less and less effectual over time.
Don’t confuse what you see in the press with the truth. I’ve been there many times over the last several years and never saw anything like we see in the media. It is just an average liberal arts-type school with liberal arts-type students. There is a lunatic fringe there, per press reports, but the average student is, well, pretty average and no different than liberal arts students at hundreds of other colleges.
