We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Living near sea-level or on flood plains have forever been risky propositions, calculated (or uncalculated) risks. All the same, people do it. This is interesting:
Cool. Very simple demonstration. Real world waves may also come laterally either direction, and in some cases, appeared to come from 2 directions. Much more study would be needed before one plunks down a lot of money.
Nice presentation. When I was a student and we were introduced to these wave tanks, our objective (especially when no one else was in the lab) was to see how much damage we could do to the beach and adjacent infrastructure. One serious note, the cheapest (and often most damaging solution) is usually the one approved by the local commission, council or whatever government entity is in charge of "saving the beach".
