Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Goodbye, Barry. My final post about the Obama administration.

I am happy to see him go because he was foolish, naive, and deluded about so many things. I will give him credit for being an effective campaigner, though. "Articulate," as Biden said. An engaging talker (who could do either black-talk or white-talk), if entirely self-centered which I suppose can happen if both your mother and father abandon you in childhood.

He adopted the cadence of a southern preacher. Worked well the first few times, then got old (to me at least).

Off script or teleprompter, he was just dreadful. "Um's" and "Uh's" every other word.

Hillary did the Southern black routine better than Obama.

"I ain't in no ways tired."

So Obama who is half black got out-blacked by an old white woman from Chicago.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

He didn't speak like that often enough. That is engaging.

Where I was disappointed in him over the course of the last eight years was that when I wanted him to be liberal, he wasn't. He was just another statist.

I'm not sorry to see him leave the stage.

But I also feel like he won't really leave the stage and that we'll hear from him too frequently.

When Obama's 8 years become better known and understood he will not only go down in history as the worst president but also as the most anti-American president. There will be defenders of his many willful acts of treason but the facts will be difficult to explain away. In my lifetime the Democrats have changed from being simply dishonest and money grabbing to being hard left anti-American and power hungry. They will not go away, they will get worse. I seriously expect an attempt at an assassination. If I were Trump I wouldn't go to Dallas or Chicago, or L.A, or...
