We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
It is not valid to imagine that burkas inhibit the male sex drive. The sex drive is hard wired. Since it is hard wired, interest in the female form is forever. And constant. The only thing the extreme coverup may do is shift the fantasy focus a bit. Just as the long dresses of yesteryear focused attention on the ankles, the burkas focus attention on the eyes, feet and hands. And the rythmic sway of the booty. We mustn't neglect the booty. Bottom line is this, the attraction doesn't go away or diminish, it just gets refocused.
I prefer to urge the other side of the argument. I think burkas increase, if anything, rather than decrease the sexual frustration/imagination/fantasy/processor load of the male situated in that culture. And all that energy needs to go someplace. Thus, the high incidence of sexual predation and violence we read about in the funny papers. Young boys, animals and uncovered western women, etc.
