It wouldn’t matter even if he were right. His proposed solution would worsen the problem.

Lemme see. There is inequality. Solution: higher taxes, more overpaid bureaucrats, more corrupt, wealthy politicians.

Yeah, that’ll fix it. It won’t even ameliorate it.

In the past such tomes came without statistics and data, fudged or not, because everyone could see inequality before their faces. Instead they exhorted people to obey God, be kind, and be just.

Piketty’s only solution is law, which doesn’t rise to the level of morality. He’s a preacher without mores, a priest without a god.

There is no reason other than force to follow his prescription.

And it won’t work.
