Maggie's Farm

So I bought two cheap plastic AA battery powered flashlights for my two grand daughters. One was pink and one was purple because one of them likes pink and one likes purple. Pretty smart, huh? I had them on the table when the two girls spotted them and I asked the younger one which one she wanted and she said pink as expected. Silenty patting myself on the back I asked to older one which one she liked and she too picked the pink one. Oh oh! So I tried a little persuasion, then humor, then tried reasoning with them to no avail. I realized that I couldn't give the girls the flashlights to play with. So I distracted them and put the flashlights away and that was the end of it. You see both of them, 3 and 5 years old would prefer to not have a flashlight if their other sister had the pink one. They could accept neither having either one but not either of them having the "better" one. This is how socialism and the logic of "inequality" works. Socialism must bring us all down to the lowest common denominator. It cannot be any other way. Those that envy others or are jealous of others would sooner go without then let someone else have the "better" toys. You cannot reason them out of this position, you cannot prove they would be better off even though someone else would be much better off, you simply cannot fix it for this person who has this political persuasion. The only thing that wil satisfy them is taking away the goodies from everyone if everyone cannot have them. Period!
