I Guess I Shouldn't Be Surprised

I haven't asked Bird Dog if our government researcher has been embedded yet. It's been quite a while since Zachriel showed himself around here, and he's the closest thing to an enforcer we've ever had.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to read this is how far we've sunk. Obama's true colors continue to show as the economy slumps further.

Can you say Pravda?

Don't Blink! The "compromise" that they will offer will be to define, or redefine, what "press" is, in effect restricting freedom of speech of bloggers, media from religious and other minority or special interest groups, etc. Remember that Dianne Feinstein wanted restrictions on what defined a journalist several months ago.

Gov'ment has two functions "revenooing and regulatin'.
funny how the Main Stream presss for regulation of everything but themselves -- water, soil, air, coal and oil, cars, phones, money, food, land use, housing, -- now it their turn and they squeal. It would be ironic funny and "serve them right" except I believe in freedom of the press as part of all my freedom.

You forgot one other function: warrin'.

I'd think a government rep in the newsroom would be an excellent precursor to reinstatement of the draft and the resurgence of ration cards.

Guess this means no more "I could have got away with it if hadn't been for you kids".

When station licenses come for renewal, expect to see lots more drama, if this gets quashed.

Though I wonder why some Mass Media PhD-to-bes )or ad agencies) aren't doing something like this on their own hook. Sounds like material for several books, monographs, journal articles, talking points etc.

The summer before the last potus election, my state, MA, lost approximately 8 conservative/libertarian radio talk show hosts....and nary a peep from the people. With that last potus election, I lost all hope of this country reversing it's course and re-embracing our Constitution. Electing and then re-electing a man that referred to our Constitution as a flawed and irrelevant document, indicated the end of the USA as I knew it.

Appears to me that the FCC wants to be the gatekeeper of the news. Who'd a thunk it?

Maybe they will get away with it?
