Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"Wicked problems"

I first heard the term "wicked problem" at a lecture a few days ago. It can be applied to technical, socio-political, and psychological problems.


It seems like a useful term.

Something like Obama is going to bankrupt us if he isn't stopped but he's got three more years. The Democrats wouldn't turn on one of their own even if he was Hitler. The Republicans are too focused on getting reelected to bother with saving the country. Even if the Republicans control both houses after the next election they will then become too focused on getting their share of the pork back to their states and supporters. And last but not least Hillary will probably win in 2016 and continue where Obama left off.
