We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Campus rape and assault

If you have been raped, you dial 911. If in danger of being raped, you try to use 911 or else pull out your Derringer or your Glock if you have one. Rape and assault are felonies. Why one would phone a campus administrator is beyond me because law enforcement is not their job. They do not live in reality.

You can have pity for the male students trapped in this system as it evolved. However, for any male to enroll at these institutions from now on is just stupidity beyond pale.

Exactly what do these colleges offer that cannot be obtained elsewhere at less risk with a friendly female student population?

If someone uses the word "rape" (or any felony) and your kid's name in the same sentence, you call a lawyer. All the procedures in place are designed to protect the institution, not the students. Neither of them.

How else are you going to get all of the committee chairs notified and gather together a suitably diverse and motivated group of supporters for wherever it is you need support?

Sheesh. Did you even READ the manual?

We have to remember that college is different.

For instance, when you see a former coach raping a young boy in the team showers, you creep away, call you daddy even though you are a college graduate and coach yourself. Oh, and then you go to the Head Coach.

See, that's the college difference. Because in the real world, you beat the crap out of the guy while awaiting the real, not campus, police arrival to take the rapist away.
