Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I’m pretty sure both Obama and his administration’s lawyer were saying something different, and broader, when they invoked Lochner: By invalidating the Affordable Care Act, the Supreme Court would be resurrecting a vision of constitutionally limited government that, quite rightly, went out of fashion a long time ago.

Good Lord: it is appalling to me that there is "an important person" with such a loathsome view. But then, I'm just a bitter combat veteran clinging to my guns and my religion.

Of COURSE, fashion. Fashion is "up to date", modern, "with it".

Likely "progressive", too. Clicquish. "In-crowd". All the things the lefties don't want to be left out of.

Seeing how bad its been torn asunder, its amazing its held up this long for all the harm brought to it over the last 100 years.

Quite weird how it worked so well prior to the 1860's, but 'the wheels fell off' just after the War of Northern Agression... Wonder why?
