We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Professors in engineering and the hard sciences don’t speak out much about the politics of male-female issues. What we hear emanates strongly from departments of women’s and “gender” studies and is adapted by psychology; social work; sociology; anthropology; literature; schools of education; and the seminaries. At the prestigious universities, most of these departments are now 80% to 95% female.
My advice to guys in college these days is to pretend that you're gay or tranny or some sort of mixed vegetable, get in with the chicks, and then happily surprise them with the Halloween treat they've been longing for.
My son is a student at a two-year college in Wyoming and lives in a dorm there. There are a lot of posters calling on men to control themselves.
How about one with a similar image, young man and woman looking potentially romantic, and this caption: "Is she going to call you a rapist in the morning?" How acceptable would that one be?
Wow this is really sad. I am a middle aged woman engineer. Went to a college with a 7:1 ratio. We've let some angry liberal women create a problem from a non-problem. No wonder they dis-like conservative and independent women. We don't buy into their rabid insanity.
